Community Picnic
September
18, 2004
A community picnic was held at the
site of the old community hall on Saturday, September 18,
2004. All Franklin residents were invited.
Food was provided by the water district and volunteers from the
community. A huge thank you to all those who worked so hard to
organize this event. It took many hours and personal
expense to have this event. It shows the dedication
and kindness of those involved in the community.
Plans for the new community hall were on display. Residents
had an opportunity to view what their new center would look like.
76 residents took advantage of this opportunity to visit with old
friends and make new ones. A local band "America’s
Favorite Mustard" provided music for the event. Over
30 door prizes were given
away. The raffle drawing was held. Tickets had been
on sale for several months. The community raised $491.50 from the
sale of raffle tickets. This money will be used for one of the
on-going rebuilding projects in the community. View list of
raffle
prizes and winners.
