Franklin DVD Set  2 DVD set of Centennial Celebration, historic photos and a narrative about the community.  This is a professionally produced DVD set which will highlight the events throughout the centennial along with interviews, photos, historical highlights and much more.  You're sure to enjoy this DVD set.   This is a very emotional experience.   Learn about the history of the community and watch the events from the centennial.  Several events are shown in their entirety (Opening Ceremony, Baby Contest, Veterans Ceremony,  Saia Dedication, Will Rogers, Wilma Pearl, Jody Phillips Dance Students) while others are shown as clips.  Very entertaining and informative.    If you attended this event you are very likely on this DVD.

Community Cookbook

We are publishing a community cookbook filled to the brim with the best recipes from the best cooks in our community.   The best news of all?  All of the profits from the sale of the cookbooks will go into our treasury for our current fundraising project.  These 5.5" x 8.5" cookbooks, with plastic comb binding, will most definitely become a cherished keepsake on your kitchen shelf!

We are anticipating a great demand for these cookbooks, so we want to be certain we are ordering enough cookbooks.  Pre-orders are recommended.   Cookbooks are available for shipping and

Flooring Mementos - Community Hall
These were designed to use as a trivets and  are made from the original flooring that was salvaged from the old community hall.   Perhaps you or your ancestors danced on this very floor.  Makes a very nice memento.   Handcrafted.   They could have a variety of uses. They would make a nice wall hanging and perhaps a photo could be added.

These are in a variety of sizes. No two are exactly alike.   The sizes are approximately 6" tall with lengths varying from 10", 12" and 16".    If you have a preference of size please let us know and we'll do my best to send that size.

SOUTHEAST KANSAS COAL MINING TOWNS

Southeastern Kansas Coal Mining Towns photo book. 68 pages of black and white photos of small mining towns in southeast Kansas. The book measures approximately 10" x 11". The book is dedicated to local miners and their families. The profits from this book are being donated to the betterment of the communities involved. There is a small note about each community along with photos of the town.

A walking path within the Franklin Community Park encircles the granite pavers.  This will be a permanant remembrance of your loved one or family.

ENDOWMENT FUND     Donor Form
Franklin Community Council, Inc. has established an endowment fund through the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas to serve as a source of funds for those programs which cannot survive on a solely volunteer basis. 

The endowment fund  provides consistent, dependable funding for maintaining our community projects such as the Community Center, Community Park,  Research and Repository for Historical Information, Community Promotions and Activities. 

Franklin Community Council, Inc.  also needs stable, long term resources to deal with day to day expenses such as postage, publication of newsletters, maintaining our website, etc.

Income from the FCCI Endowment provides our Board of Directors with dependable, known future resources to support our vital programs.    Stable funding will permit our committee chairmen to plan for the future.

As a  501(c)(3) not-for-profit entity, the Endowment Fund is a way to make tax-deductible contributions that help secure Franklin's future as well as preserving it's past.

You can help in any of the following ways:

  • By *Bequest*  Remember CFSEK-Franklin Community Council Fund in your will and estate planning.
