Next FCCI meeting
Sunday, December 4, 2 pm
STORM SIREN: The final
paperwork has been sent to USDA so we’re hoping to have a final answer
soon and can put the project out for bids.
COMMUNITY
HALL: (Ted Wynn, Chairman, 347-4040) Hopefully
everyone has had an opportunity to see the new facility. The open
house and dedication was a huge success with approximately 250 people
attending. Everyone was very pleased with the
hall.
COMMUNITY
HALL BUILDING COMMITTEE: (Joe Cukjati, Chairman,
347-4311) Joe has resigned effective immediately from the
Building Committee and the FCCI Board. This committee was a
temporary committee and has been dissolved.
ADVISORY
COMMITTEE: (Dianna Morrision, Chairman,
347-8807) The advisory committee has had a busy month with
planning the open house for the community center and the polka party
for November 20.
CENTENNIAL:
(Phyllis Bitner, 249-9333) The centennial is scheduled for the
weekend of June 23-24, 2007. Make plans now to plan your family
reunion at the same time.
PLANNING
AND LAND USE COMMITTEE (Ray Hamblin, Chairman,
347-4228) Ray would like to thank all the workers who have
helped with the building of the play gym at the park.
Trim will be placed on the shelter soon. Extra dirt for the park
was received from the water project.
Don’t forget to order your pavers
for the park. This will be an on-going project. They are a
nice way to leave a permanent marker for your family, school class,
business, organization, memorial or whatever you choose.
Due to delays in the laying of the walking path we are still able to
take orders to be included with the first shipment. The
first shipment will be laid as soon as the walking path is in
place. Costs will be going up after the first of the year.
This is due to an increase from the manufacturer. Get your
orders in before the end of the year. These would make a nice
gift for the holidays.
Many have asked about the design of the
pavers. If you have visited the Veterans Memorial by Pitt
State College you will see exactly how the pavers will look. They
are made by the same company and will be exactly like
those. A few park benches are still available for
$100. These also make nice gifts for the
holidays.
HERITAGE
COMMITTEE: (Phyllis Bitner, Chairman,
347-8387) Final paperwork has been sent to the
state regarding the sidewalk. There is a lot of interest on
their part and they are working with us to obtain the historical
listing before the centennial in 2007. We are still
looking for more information on the sidewalk. We also welcome
anyone who has an interest in the history of the community to join this
committee. Many exciting projects coming up so please
join the group if you have an interest.
WATER:
Water payments are to be MAILED and not dropped off at anyone's
house. We are working on plans for a drop box at the new
community center. Keep watching the newsletter for more
information.
