The County's purpose is to check after a disaster to be sure that people aren't trapped due to debris that could hinder their exiting from the shelter or basement.  Future plans call for listing on a GPS map which would be available to all responding agencies. If you would like for your shelter to be on this map please contact Eldon Bedene at 620-724-8274.  For any water related problems please call Henry Ashbacher at 620-347-4070 or 620-249-2900. For any bookkeeping or billing problems please call Veda Maxwell at 620-347-4747.

VETERANS DISPLAY:  Veterans photos continue to pour in.   This display is a wonderful tribute to those who have served our country.   Please send any photos of Franklin residents (past and present) who are or have been veterans.   Chester “Clark” Fikes, a former Franklin resident and WWII POW has donated a display of his military medals to the community center.  We are most thankful for his generous donation.   We are trying to obtain a grant to place another display case in the community center.   We are blessed to have so many people realize the importance of our heritage and the dedicated service these men gave to our country.

VETERANS LUNCHEON:  We will be hosting a Veterans’ Luncheon on November 10 at noon at the Community Center.  If you know of a veteran who may enjoy attending please let us know.
